Beloved by children and adults alike, they gift that magic atmosphere that only Christmas can instil in even the hardest and saddest of hearts.
Most Christmas markets take place in Trentino and South Tyrol, but there are always more Italian locations that, between november and january, host the characteristic wooden stalls offering lights, performances, handicrafts, traditional sweets, and mulled wine.

Bolzano
The scent is one of cinnamon and spices, of mountain wood and homemade cakes, of mulled wine and festively decorated fir trees. The colours are those of the perfectly decorated wooden stalls and the thousand lights of the Christmas tree in the square. The Habsburg Christmas Market will take place in Levico Terme from 19th november 2022 until 6th january 2023.
The market will be held in the Habsburg Secular Park, the most important historical garden of the Great Italian Gardens. Here, during the opening, you can relive the belle époque thanks to the re-enactments of the Habsburg period, which include parades and costumed court dances in the Habsburg Court.

The market will be held at the National Railway Museum of Pietrarsa, in the splendid setting which saw the birth of Italy's first railway line between Naples and Portici in 1839.

The Oh bej! Oh bej! Fair is the typical market of the Milanese Christmas period. It should be held 4th-8th december, in front of Castle Sforzesco. The event is not yet confirmed.
The Milan Christmas Market is held in Piazza Duomo, from 1st december 2022 until 6th january 2023. Milan's central square is filled with over 60 chalets selling traditional Christmas gifts and handicrafts, such as decorations, baubles for Christmas trees, Nativity scenes, Befana socks, and a wide range of culinary delicacies from various regions. Open 9:00-21.00.
The Indro Montanelli Gardens will also host the "Milan Christmas Village" - the first Christmas themed park in the heart of Milan. An enchanting place where you can meet Santa Claus, the Snow Queen, and play with elves and other characters.
Mantua

The market in Piazza Santa Croce in Florence recreates the Baverian market experience and is in fact called Weihnachtsmarkt ("Christmas market" in German). You will find traditional Central European cuisine such as sauerkraut and sausages, gingerbread, mulled wine, and "the balls of Mozart" - the typical Salzburg chocolates.

Verona, a UNESCO heritage city and a meeting point for culture and tradition, is transformed with the lights, sounds and colours of its Christmas markets.
Asiago (VI)
The Asiago Christmas Market will be held in the two main squares of the city: the gardens of Piazza Cali and the central square Il Risorgimento.
There will be a central carousel and entertainment, as well as Santa Claus who collects children's letters.
For the older ones, there will be sandwiches, a dish of polenta and cheese – Asiago of course – and mulled wine or hot chocolate.
